Service Ministries

The people at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown are involved in many service opportunities. God calls us to love one another, and to go into all the world with the love of Jesus Christ seeking to bind up the broken hearted and strengthen the weak.  We serve the Lord as we offer this service to others.

Our Pastoral Care Team is a caring group of loving and dedicated church members who assist the Pastoral Staff by providing phone calls, visits, cards, and prayers to people who are hospitalized, homebound, or grieving.  

Through one-to-one caring relationships, the Stephen Ministry Team supports those who are hurting, offering them support, love and care.  Having someone to care, to listen, and to share God’s love with you can help you get through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing.

The role of Deacon is one of sympathy, witness and service after the example of Jesus Christ.  Deacons minister to those in need, the sick, the friendless, and anyone who may be in distress. 

The Samaritan Counseling Center offers professional, Christian counseling to individuals, couples and families.  Their mission is to help individuals and families achieve spiritual, emotional and physical well-being through professional psychological counseling and educational programs using resources of faith.
